"Custody Law Reform Called for"
'The Age'
January 29th, 2010
This article reviews that the changes to custody laws have fostered wrong assumptions and prompted parents to focus on thier rights rather than those of their childrens.
The review states that the laws need to spell out to seperated fathers that they have no right to a half-half time split with their children. this has been stated due to the amount of family violence and abuse that is happening in peoples day to day lives.
Poor drafting of the laws led many parents to 'wrongly assume' that the law meant children should spend equal amounts of time with each parent even when violence was involved with one of them.
